Despite the advent of the three-day Nevada Day weekend, the Carson City Courthouse will be open Friday and Saturday to those wishing to vote early.

Voters can head to the polls on the Nevada Day holiday, Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. During the final week of early voting, Monday through Friday, Nov. 3, the courthouse will be open to voters from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The early voting polls are open today from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Carson City Courthouse, 885 E. Musser St., is located on the corner of Roop and East Musser streets.

Early voting in Carson City is up this year compared to the two previous election years. About 2,537 Carson residents cast early votes through Wednesday compared to 1,850 voters in 1998 and 1,737 voters in 1996.

Blind and visually impared people may cast a secret ballot through the Carson City Clerk's Office.
