For the most part, the Carson volleyball team was on its game and it was good enough for a 15-6, 15-6, 14-16, 15-13 win against Reed.

Carson Coach Daryl James said at times "we kind of let down and Reed played a little better," but overall he was pleased with his team's effort.

"Always happy with wins," said James, whose team improved to 4-0. "Reed's decent. I don't think they're one of the top few teams.

"They dug a lot of balls. We hit some balls pretty well and they got them up."

Kaitlin Leck helped lead Carson's effort with 20 kills, three blocks and 10 digs.

She also had a strong match serving. "She did a good job as usual," James said. "She's a solid player."

Setter Ryanne Amodei had an outstanding match with 46 assists. Jennifer Saunders and Megan Anderson each had nine kills and Rachel DeRiemer had five kills and four blocks. Chrissy Joseph, Heidi Alexander and Talia Joyce all played well defensively.

In addition, Joseph had three aces, Alexander served for two aces and Joyce added an ace. Shannon Devereaux had two kills and two blocks, with one of her blocks coming on match point. Colleen Doyle added two kills
