Children's Home Reunion and Picnic to be held on Aug. 12

The second Children's Home Reunion and Picnic will be held Aug. 12 at Roberts House Park in Carson City and Aug. 13 at Lake Tahoe.

The Nevada State Children's Home was in operation from 1869 until its closure in 1992.

The reunion will provide an opportunity to exchange stories, renew old friendships and be with family once again. Resources for additional information will be provided to those interested in doing further research on their stay at the Nevada State Children's Home.

Former residents and workers are asked to contact the Children's Home Reunion Committee coordinators Bonnie Nishikawa at 882-4838 or downywood@aol.com, or Sue Ballew at 684-4429 or sballew@govmail.state.nv.us, with name and address if they are interested in attending.

This year because of the two-day event and special locations, reservations are required. Cost is $7.50 per person per day or $15 for both days.
