Duck, goose and swan seasons and bag limits

Here are the seasons and bag limits for ducks, geese and swans for the 2000-2001 Nevada hunting seasons:


- Duck:


Opened on Oct. 7. Will close on Jan. 20, 2001, for all of Nevada except the Moapa Valley Portion of the Overton Wildlife Management Area.


Nov. 4 - Jan. 20, 2001 in the the Moapa Valley Portion of the Overton Wildlife Management Area.


The bag limit is seven daily, 14 in possession, with continuing special restrictions on bag limits for species such as canvasback, female mallard, pintail, redhead and scaup.


- Goose:


The seasons vary by area of the state.


Most of those seasons will run Saturday - Jan. 20, 2001.


The bag limit is three daily and six in possession.


- Tundra Swan:


Saturday - Jan. 7, 2001 in only Churchill, Lyon and Pershing Counties.


The bag limit is one bird per hunter.


There are a total of 650 special swan tags, available only through the application process.
