Man approaches child with request to get in car

A man approached a child Sunday afternoon and reportedly offered $5 for the child to get in and give him directions to Mexican Dam.

The child was near the 2500 block of Pinion Hills Drive when the man reportedly drove up at 12:35 p.m. in a 1970s beige or tan International Scout utility vehicle. The child refused the man's offer and told his parents, reports state.

The man is described as white, slightly overweight, in his 40s, with dark hair. According to reports he was wearing a white shirt. A report was taken for suspicious circumstances.
