An alleged attempted stabbing Thursday evening ended with a Carson City home painter behind bars.

Joseph Raywayne Broussard, 20, was arrested after his 15-year-old brother reported that Broussard swung a knife at his face during a domestic dispute.

The brother told police that Broussard became agitated while he was on the phone, and reportedly said, "I'm going to stab you the next time you talk to that girl."

When deputies arrived at the home at 703 Armory Way at 4:45 p.m., Broussard was running down the road in an attempt to flee, reports state. He was caught in the 2500 block of Grant Street.

Broussard was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor domestic battery. He was being held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
