Motorcyclist charged in drunk driving accident

A 30-year-old motorcyclist was arrested for suspicion of drunken driving after he reportedly ran a stop sign early Tuesday morning, slamming into the rear of a sports utility vehicle.

Michael D. Barnes, 30, suffered bumps and scrapes when the accident occurred at 1:24 a.m. at Broadleaf Lane and Carson Street. He was also charged with failing to yield to the driver.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, Barnes was headed west on Broadleaf Lane when he ran the stop sign. He was held in lieu of $1,355 bail.
