Northern Nevada residents complete career development program

Two Northern Nevada residents recently completed the University of Nevada, Reno's Career Development Facilitator Certificate program.

Karin Couchman, human resource generalist, college relations at Bently Nevada Corporation in Nevada and Greg Marangi, School-to-Careers Regional Coordinator at Western Nevada Community College completed the certificate program June 24.

Curriculum for this program was based on the 12 Career Development Facilitator competencies developed by the Career Development Training Institute. To be certified, the CDF must be proficient in helping skills, assessment, diverse populations, career development models, employability skills, training clients and peers, program management, promotion and public relations, technology, supervision, ethical and legal issues and the labor market information and resources.
