Candace "Candi" Mendelsohn, 51, a Gardnerville resident, died Aug. 22, 2000, in Gardnerville. She was born Jan. 12, 1949, in Bellingham, Wash., and was adopted at birth by Donald and Marjorie Mitchell.
She graduated from Bellingham High School and attended Bellingham Business College.
A partner in C.J. Construction, she was most recently employed as a FEMA inspector. She and her business partner Wanda Wideen cared for the elderly and those in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James.
Among her survivors are a daughter, Sara Hyatt of Bellingham; sister Donna Eldred of Patterson, N.Y., and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Following cremation, there will be a private service conducted by Richard Eldred of Patterson.
