A memorial service for John Scott Wafford, 37, a Reno-Sparks resident for the past 30 years, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ross, Burke & Knobel Mortuary.
Mr. Wafford died Nov. 19, 2000 at his home in Sparks. He was born Nov. 12, 1963, in Fallon to McArthur "Mac" and Donna Marie Wafford.
He lived in Fallon, Gabbs, Reno and Truckee.
He graduated from Reed High School in Sparks.
Mr. Wafford was a truck drive for Sierra West Express, Sparks. He was a member of the Maran Motorcycle Racing Club. He loved baseball and the Dallas Cowboys and he enjoyed camping, motorcycle racing, barbecues and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Jan. 26, 2000 and father Feb. 18, 1983.
Among his survivors are his wife of 12 years, Deena; son Zachary Lawson and daughter Christina Lawson, all of Sparks; sister Lynda Savage of Casper, Wyo.; brother Mark Wafford of Reno; sister Denita Retzl of Reno; brother Rex Johnson of Memphis, Tenn.; grandparents Earl and Virgie Van Every of Boise, Idaho and several nieces and nephews.
Private inurnment will be held.
Cremation will be at Sierra Crematory.
