Obituary: Scott Alan Tidwell

Scott Alan Tidwell, 44, a Dayton resident for the past 15 years, died Aug. 5, 200 at his home. He was born Dec. 20, 1955, in Colorado, to Bill and Jimmye Justus Tidwell.

He graduated from UNR in 1989 with a bachelor's degree in wildlife biology.

Before moving to Dayton, he lived in Texas.

Mr. Tidwell was a wildlife biologist employed by the Department of Forestry as a forestry technician. He enjoyed mountain biking, photography, spending time with his nephew, fishing and golf. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Colorado.

He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Nimitz as a nuclear weapons technician. He was also a plank owner of the USS Nimitz.

Among his survivors are his parents of Grand Junction, Colo.; maternal grandmother Pauline "Mammy"Justus of Palisade; brother Greg of Reno; sister Allison Anders of Abilene, Texas; numerous aunts and uncles and numerous nieces and one nephew.

Services are pending.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
