A dance for all Carson High School students will be held tonight at the Carson City Community Center from 7:30 to 11 p.m.

The dance, hosted by the reserve sheriff's department, will be used as a fund-raiser for the department.

The cost will be $5 per person and is limited to Carson High students only.

Chris Cook, a reserve deputy, said the department is hoping the entire school will attend the dance.

"We want them to see that we're not just out there giving tickets and giving them a bad time," Cook said. "We want to establish a positive image of the department. We're here to help them."

Cook said the idea to hold the dance was generated by Deputy Ray Guzman, who is assigned to the high school.

Refreshments will be provided.
