The McQueen Lancers and Wooster Colts will square off in the NIAA/U.S. Bank State 4A championship football game Saturday afternoon at Mackay Stadium in Reno.

A 1 p.m. kickoff is scheduled for the game, which will mark the third meeting this season between McQueen (13-0) and Wooster (10-3). McQueen has won the two previous games, both played at Wooster: 31-14 on Sept. 9 and 28-3 in the Northern 4A Regional finals two weeks ago.

McQueen advanced to the final with a 29-14 win at home against Eldorado while Wooster defeated Bishop Gorman 29-6 in Las Vegas this past Saturday.

This is the first state championship football game played at the University of Nevada since 1988, when Rancho defeated Wooster 25-13.

McQueen and Wooster have combined to win the Northern large schools title in all but two years since 1985 (South Tahoe in 1991 and Elko in 1998 are the exceptions).
