LAS VEGAS - An Alaska man waiting for his return flight home Tuesday won a $1.4 million jackpot on a slot machine at McCarran International Airport.

Rodney M. Clark of Anchorage had played about $10 before hitting the winning combination on a Quartermania machine. Clark missed his 4 p.m. flight home because he was collecting his winnings.

Clark, who works odd jobs in Alaska, had been visiting his ailing parents in Laughlin. He said he plans to spend the money on his parents. Clark also works as a Santa Claus during the holidays.
