The head of Nevada's criminal Justice Information System has been named to the new National Crime Prevention and Privacy Compact Council.

Dennis DeBacco joins the panel as an expert in criminal history records exchange for a two-year term.

The compact was passed by Congress to allow states to change the way criminal history records are exchanged between states and federal authorities. The plan is to allow national exchange of records for purposes of occupational licensing and employment screening.
