The Sierra District of the California State Park System is offering a chance to re-live Donner Party history on Sunday at Donner Memorial State Park.
That state park is on the east side of Donner Lake, two miles west of Truckee, Calif.
You will be walking to historic sites near the Donner Memorial State Park Emigrant Trail Museum and then driving your car to historic sites at nearby Alder Creek.
Meet at 10 a.m. at the Emigrant Trail Museum.
Dress in layered clothing for variable weather conditions and wear sturdy hiking boots.
There is no charge for the hike.
