LAS VEGAS - Gov. Kenny Guinn has appointed Southwest Gas Community Affairs Manager Robyn Clayton and U.S. Department of Commerce Community Partnership Specialist Gilbert Flores to the Nevada Commission for National and Community Service.

Clayton, a 19-year veteran of Southwest Gas, oversees the company's communications and community affairs departments throughout Southwest's three-state service territory.

Flores is working as a partnership specialist with the State of Nevada Census 2000. He is responsible for the partnerships in data collection, recruiting and promotion.

The Nevada Commission was created in 1994 to select and support qualified service programs in the state for AmeriCorps funding, the national initiative which addresses critical service needs by awarding scholarships to participants in exchange for community service.
