The issue of the Appeal for Feb. 2 reported on the prospect of including a bike path in construction of the new freeway. I almost fell out of my chair when I read the statement, " Residents backing the project argue that the path is as important to Carson City as the freeway itself." Did someone actually say that or did your writer make it up? Ask any of the thousands of grid-locked drivers on Carson Street if he agrees with that statement and get out of the way before he reacts.
I ride a bike occasionally and would welcome another path, but face it, folks, a bike path will be frosting on the freeway cake. The cake comes first. Don't stop the baker if you can't afford the frosting.
