A Carson City man became combative with law enforcement officers after he rolled his Subaru car near Eagle Station Lane and Silver Sage Drive on Wednesday evening, according to reports.
Deputies say that Herman Clair Rabe, 21, was northbound on Silver Sage at 6:30 p.m. when he lost control on water that had accumulated on the road. The car went sideways, skidded and then rolled onto the roof.
When deputies arrived, they questioned Rabe, who they say was combative and appeared to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody after a warrant check revealed that he was wanted for suspicion of failing to appear for a court date.
While being taken to the Carson City jail on the warrant, drunken driving and traffic offenses, Rabe was reportedly screaming in the back of the patrol car, spitting on a deputy and "at times would strike his head against the rear passenger windows," reports indicate.
His behavior became so aggressive, the deputy reported, he had to be threatened with pepper spray before he calmed down. During an attempt to draw blood as part of the sobriety test, Rabe reportedly continued to fight deputies at the jail.
He was booked on misdemeanor drunken driving, reckless driving, being uninsured and driving with bald tires and felony battery on a peace officer. He was held on $30,000 bail.
