Nevada opens series of indoor track and field meets

The Silver State Invitational indoor track and field meet will be held Saturday in Reno, marking the kickoff in a series of five meets being hosted by the University of Nevada.


Competition will be held at the Reno Livestock Events Center's Bill Cosby Indoor Track Facility, starting with the field events at 8:30 a.m. and running events at noon.


Among the teams that will compete are Washington State, Arizona, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, U.C. Davis, Fresno State, Stanford, San Diego State, Oklahoma State and Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo.


Looking ahead, the Wolf Pack Invitational will be held Feb. 5 at the Reno Livestock Events Center, to be followed by the Bill Cosby Invitational on Feb. 12, the Holiday Inn Classic on Feb. 19, and finally, the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships on Feb. 25-26.
