New president named of Harcourt Educational Measurement

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Nevada's former superintendent of Public Instruction Eugene T. Paslov has been named president of Harcourt Educational Measurement, the educational assessment business of The Psychological Corporation.

Paslov, 65, joined Harcourt in February 1999 as a senior advisor and brings almost 40 years' experience in education to his new position.

Prior to joining The Psychological Corporation, Paslov was president of a private consulting firm, Education Management Consultants, Inc., and served as executive director of New Standards, a national research and development organization of the National Center for Education and the Economy. From 1984 to 1994 Dr. Paslov served as the Superintendent of Public Instruction for Nevada, where he developed innovative programs for at-risk children, improved curriculum and increased student achievement levels.

Harcourt Educational Measurement is a subsidiary of Harcourt, Inc., the publishing and educational services subsidiary.
