Obituary: Coleman Hughes

Coleman Vincent Hughes, 84, a Carson City resident since 1946, died Jan. 28, 2000 at his residence. No services will be held.

Mr. Hughes was born Dec. 29, 1915, to Patrick and Justinia O'Leary Hughes of Virginia City.

He attended schools in Fallon and Hawthorne, and the University of Nevada, Reno.

Prior to living in Carson City he resided in Mineral County.

Until his retirement in 1982, Mr. Hughes and his son Michael Hughes, owned and operated Hughes Rock and Sand and Dayton Ready Mix in Dayton.

Mr. Hughes served with combat engineers during World War II in the Pacific Theater.

Among his survivors are his wife, Billie Hughes of Carson City; son, Michael Hughes of Dayton; daughter, Laura Lee Forbusch of Stella, Mo.; brother, Pete McKinnon of Brookings, Ore.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Capital City Cremation Society is in charge of arrangements.
