Obituary: Virginia Turner

A memorial service for Virginia Turner, 66, a Carson City resident since 1978, will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.

Ms. Turner died Dec. 10, 1999, at her residents. She was born Aug. 13, 1933, in New York, N.Y., to Richard Turner and Leonora Blackmore.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Illinois.

Ms. Turner was a teacher at Western Nevada Community College and at the Nevada State Prison. She was a teacher at various levels since 1973.

She enjoyed traveling and was a volunteer at Carson-Tahoe Hospital.

Among her survivors are two sons, Keith Richardville of Carson City and Denis Richardville of Anaheim, Calif.; two daughters, Michelle Teixeira and Lisa Sheppard, both of Carson City; a brother, Richard B. Turner of Palm Beach, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory
