Order of Eagles gives camp $1,000 check

Carson City Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 1006 President Gene Addington, recently presented a check in the amount of $1,000 to Camp Sundowner Sertoma in memory of Al Hays Sr., Carson Eagle vice president who passed away suddenly.

The check was accepted by Gary and Gala MacDonald, directors of Camp Sundowner Sertoma, a summer camp for speech and hearing impaired children.

Carson Eagle Auxiliary President Sally Addington, also gave a $1,000 check to the Carson City Senior Citizens Center Meals on Wheels program, in memory of Al Hays Sr. Center director Janice McIntosh accepted the check.

The Carson Eagles is a fraternal organization dedicated to charitable works in the community and country. Their motto is "People helping people." For membership information, visit the hall at 1380 E. Fifth St.
