The Nevada Gaming Control Board on Wednesday recommended an unlimited license for veteran casino operator Bob Cashell Sr. at the Ormsby Hotel hotel-casino in Carson City.

Cashell said revised marketing strategies have improved revenues, and new owners Allan Fiegehen and Don Lehr, who paid $3.75 million for the local landmark, are pumping in $8 million to $10 million more for improvements.

''This is not a Band-Aid job,'' Cashell added in describing extensive remodeling at the club once owned by former Gov. and U.S. Sen. Paul Laxalt and other members of his family.
