Pacific 62, Nevada 52
STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) - Senior guard Clay McKnight scored all nine of his points in the final 3 minutes and 17 seconds, helping Pacific to a 62-52 victory Saturday night over Nevada.
McKnight, who didn't start because of a sprained ankle, started his streak with a 3-pointer that gave Pacific (10-12, 5-5 Big West) a 52-45 lead over the Wolf Pack (5-16, 3-7).
McKnight added six consecutive free throws in the final 1:23, padding his NCAA lead. He has connected on 61 free throws in 62 attempts this season.
The balanced Pacific offense was topped by center Mike Preston's 11 points, eight coming in the first half. Forward Mike Hahn added 10 points.
Nevada's scoring leader was guard Adrian McCullough with 11 points. Three of the Wolf Pack fouled out, helping Pacific convert 24 of 32 free throw attempts, 10 for 10 in the opening half.
The slow-starting Wolf Pack had one field goal the first eight minutes, falling behind 10-2. Freshman Terrance Green's 3-pointer with four seconds remaining cut Pacific's lead to 28-23 at the half.
