Rite of Passage shoots down Fernley

YERINGTON - Jonathon Harris and David Simmons scored 21 points each to lead Rite of Passage to a 72-60 victory at home against Fernley in the 3A Division I opener for both teams on Saturday night.

Harris shot 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter as Rite of Passage (1-0, 5-9) put the game away. Simmons also contributed nine points as the Rams outscored Fernley 25-18 in the fourth quarter.

Tyler Selden led all scorers with 29 points for Fernley.
