Great Basin National Park Superintendent Rebecca Mills has announced the summer schedule for a number of ranger-led activities at that national park.

The park is located about 80 miles south and east of Ely, near the Utah stateline.

She has announced that the Visitor Center will be open 7 a.m.-6 p.m., through Sept. 4.

Tours of Lehman Cave will be given daily at 13 different times. The tours will begin at 7:20 a.m., with the last one scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. Tours will be limited to 25 persons.

Ranger-led programs will include nightly campground activities at Upper Lehman Creek Campground and on Fridays and Saturdays at Wheeler Peak Campground, weather permitting. Beginning about mid-June, a ranger will lead a two-mile hike to the Bristlecone Grove on Wheeler Peak, on a daily basis.

On Fridays and Saturdays, a hour-long program (Great Basin for Kids) will offer a variety of topics and activities throughout the summer., This program will offer fun and information for the entire family. It will be held at the Upper Lehman Campground Amphitheater Campfire Circle.
