A Carson City store employee - suspicious about people sleeping in a small van outside the Craft Market - told her husband, an off-duty sheriff's deputy.

The result was the Saturday morning arrest of a suspected carjacker from Sacramento.

Theodore McQueen, 21, of the Sacramento area was arrested in the South Carson Street parking lot for investigation of possession of stolen property - a 1992 Plymouth Colt van, possession of forged instruments, possession of a narcotic without a prescription and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. All are felonies.

A 15-year-old girl in the van had been reported as a runaway from Sacramento and also was arrested, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Department.

The van allegedly was stolen in a carjacking Wednesday in Sacramento.

McQueen was found to have checks belonging to the vehicle's owner, but made out to a local casino. A department spokesman said it appeared no such checks had been cashed in the area yet.
