UNR offers gaming management courses

RENO - Surveillance Operations and Management, The Gaming Management Series course, will be offered in January by the University of Nevada, Reno.

Developed by experienced surveillance operation, this comprehensive week long course will focus on both the administration and application aspects of the surveillance operation. By reviewing actual videotapes of cheating incidents, students will sharpen their detection skills in both gaming and non-gaming areas.

Topics include strategies for selecting the right staff, developing training programs, regulatory compliance issues, industry networking, current cheating schemes and scams, investigative techniques and report writing, equipment selection and placement, and gaming and non-gaming properties.

The course will be offered Jan. 9-14 at the university's Midby-Byron Center, 1041 N. Virginia St. The course fee is $2,500 and instructors are experts in their fields with real world experience.
