A 39-year-old Virginia City woman was arrested Thursday after reports of a stabbing at a Carson City residence in the 3500 block of Highway 50 East.

Sheriff's deputies believe Lisa Gay Dragomer, 39, wounded another woman with a knife following an argument that turned physical.

When deputies arrived they were met by the victim kneeling over a sink, "bleeding profusely from wounds sustained to both forearms," according to reports.

She was being attended to by two men, one of whom was her husband and who reportedly witnessed the melee. He told deputies that Dragomer had committed the stabbings.

Dragomer allegedly fled the scene on foot about 1:30 a.m. and deputies caught up with her at 2:20 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 50 East and Brown Street.

Other witnesses said they saw Dragomer go after the woman with a knife, according to deputies. A preliminary search did not reveal its location but a knife was later found "with blood stains on it a few feet away from where Dragomer was stopped," the report said.

The knife was booked into evidence and Dragomer was held on $30,000 bail for one count of assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim was treated and released from Carson-Tahoe Hospital.
