PALO ALTO, Calif. - You're out jogging. When you come home, you find a man in your house. He says he just needed to use the bathroom - then he walks out.
That really happened Sunday to a Palo Alto woman.
''The guy said, 'I'm just using your restroom,' and he kind of sauntered on out,'' said police Sgt. Dennis Burns.
The woman, whose name was not released, didn't buy that story and called the police.
A few blocks away, officers arrested Darrin Barnhill, 34, of Rhinelander, Wis., for investigation of burglary. They discovered he also had a warrant out for his arrest for a parole violation in Wisconsin.
The house had apparently been left unlocked. The woman said $100 in cash was missing.
