Obituary: Jo Ellen McGinness

A celebration of life for Jo Ellen McGinness, 50, will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church in Fallon.

Ms. McGinness a lifelong resident of Fallon died Dec. 21, 2001 at Silver Rose Manor after a long illness. She was born April 17, 1951, in Fallon to Joe and Helen Reeves McGinness.

Ms. McGinness taught first grade at Northside Elementary School for 17 years.

She is a 1969 graduate of Churchill County High School and a 1973 graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno where she earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education.

She was a member of the United Methodist Women's Group, Kiwanis and a past member of the Churchill County Sheriff's Reserve.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her mother; brother and sister-in-law Mike and Dee, of Fallon; nephews Ryan McGinness, of Washington, D.C., Brett McGinness of Reno; niece Shannon McGinness of Reno; one aunt and uncle and numerous cousins.

Burial will be at the Churchill County Cemetery.

The Gardens Funeral Home in Fallon is in charge of arrangements.
