Locals battle in OSU-Nevada swim meet

Carson High graduate Jessie Hong and the Oregon State women's swim team were able to edge Douglas High graduates Charlene Rigdon and Brandy Reichardt and the University of Nevada in the pool.

The Beavers defeated the Wolf Pack 150-144 in a dual meet on Saturday.

In the 200-yard backstroke, Rigdon placed second in two minutes, 9.02 seconds while Hong took fourth in 2:10.44. In the 100 back, Rigdon took third (1:00.42) and Hong placed fifth (1:02.25). Hong also placed fifth in the 400 individual medley in 4:48.07.

Rigdon was part of Nevada's winning 400 freestyle relay (3:32.12). Reichardt was part of Nevada's team that placed third (3:40.38).

Reichardt took third in the 50 free (25.19) and Rigdon was part of Nevada's third place team in the 400 medley relay (3:58.19) as well.
