Donald Luther Morgan, 72, a Gardnerville resident for the past eight years, died Sept. 4, 2001, at Carson Valley Medical Center in Gardnerville. He was born Aug. 21, 1929, in Monrovia, Calif., to James D. and Maruerite Duncan Morgan.

Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Gardena, Calif.

Mr. Morgan was an accountant for Industrial Dynamics, Signal Oil and Bekins Van and Storage for 37 years, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed watching sports and old-time movies on TV and the Jazz Festival in Sacramento, Calif. every year.

He was past treasurer of the Church of Christ in Buena Park, Calif., and treasurer for Country Lane Water Management Association in Gardnerville. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Carson City.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952.

Among his survivors are his sister and brother-in-law Gladys M. and Donald Rollings of Gardnerville and brother George Niner of San Diego, Calif.

A private service will be held in California at a later date.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home, Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
