Accident backs up traffic

There were no injuries in a late morning accident at Fifth Street and Saliman Road that backed up traffic for about 40 minutes Thursday.

A vehicle driven by Victoria Ruiz of Carson City, carrying four young children, was make a left turn from Fifth Street onto Saliman when she turned in the path of an eastbound Isuzu Trooper driven by Katherine Lawrence, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Department.

Lawrence also had a child in her vehicle.

Ruiz was cited for no driver's license, turning at an intersection, no proof of insurance and no child restraints.
