A Carson City man was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of riding his horse while under the influence.

David Aaron Graber, 39, a casino cook, was arrested at 10:56 p.m. at Robinson and Plaza streets.

According to police reports, Graber was riding north on Carson Street on the sidewalk in front of the Carson Nugget casino.

When he was stopped, police reported, Graber told an officer he had not been drinking and had no identification.

"(Graber) originally told me the horse was not well-behaved and then told me later the horse was very well-behaved," the officer wrote in his report.

The police report states Graber failed a field-sobriety test and his preliminary breath test result was .17 -- nearly twice the legal limit.

Animal control officers picked up the horse.
