Mall hours and mail service extended to accommodate the holiday rush

'Tis the season and to help during the holiday rush, Santa will be taking requests at the Carson Mall through Christmas Eve.

Meanwhile, local mailing services will be open later and longer and business hours have been extended from the mall to Telegraph Square.

"I'm open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Christmas," said Doreen Mack, owner of Lofty Expressions. "We have Christmas music on the square and most of the businesses here are open until 6 p.m."

The regular hours at Sasha's City Boutique are extended, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays from 4 to 9 p.m.

Carson Mall is open through the season on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Santa will be on hand to take any special requests at the Carson Mall this Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again Saturday through Christmas Eve at the same times.

J.C. Penney at the Southgate Mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

When those packages and cards are ready to send, local mail service will be ready with extended hours.

-- At 3691 Research Way in Carson City, Federal Express is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

-- Mail Boxes Etc.,1894 Highway 50 East, is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

-- United Parcel Service, 301 Vista Boulevard in Sparks, is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Dec. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

To help with the rush, U.S. Postal Service office hours have been extended through the holiday season in Carson City, Minden and other areas.

-- The Carson City post office will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

-- The Post Office Express at Kmart in north Carson City will be open during its usual hours, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.

-- The Minden post office has extended its regular hours from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 21.

-- Both offices will maintain regular hours 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
