A funeral service will be held for Russell D. Brigham, Sr., 58, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1191 E. Stillwater Ave. in Fallon.

Mr. Brigham died on Feb. 13 at Washoe Medical Center in Reno.

Mr. Brigham was born March 1, 1943 in Schurz to Robert and LaVerne Hooper Brigham. He had lived in Fallon since 1957, having moved there from the Reese River area.

He was a member of the Yomba Shoshone Tribe in Reese River.

Mr. Brigham was a self-employed hay loader and truck driver.

A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict, where he earned the National Defense Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Mr. Brigham was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Gina M. Brigham; and, a sister, LaVella Lockwood.

He is survived by his wife, Millie; daughter, Elizabeth Works; son, Russell Brigham, Jr., all of Fallon; brothers Artie Brigham, of Fallon, and Bobbie Brigham, of Elko; sisters, Mary Hard, Charlotte Dodgen and Shawna Morgan, all of Fallon, Ann DelaVega, of Round Mountain, Violet Brigham, of Pocatilla, Idaho, Deanna Testerman, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren Cassandra Works, R. Docavie Vendiola, Alyssa Dick and William Dick, all of Fallon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Smith Family Funeral Home, at 505 Rio Vista Dr. in Fallon.

Burial will follow the service at Churchill Public Cemetery.

Smith Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Fallon is in charge of arrangements.
