Carson High's George Pincock had an impressive effort against fast competition in the 400 meters at the Adidas Outdoor Track Championships in Raleigh, N.C.
Pincock finished fourth in one of the four heats in the 400, finishing in 49.20 seconds in the meet that featured top flight high school athletes from across the nation. The winning time in the event was 45.89.
Pincock also competed in the 200, finishing in just over 22 seconds in the preliminaries.
Also competing was Carson's Shanna Sparks, who didn't have one of her better efforts in the two-mile run, finishing in 11:16. Molly Huddle of El Mira, N.Y. set a national record in the event, finishing in 10:01.
