Obituary for John George Wingate

John George Wingate, 50, a Carson City resident for the past 14 years, died Nov. 2, 2002, at his home. He was born Oct. 12, 1952, in Oakland, Calif., to John R. and Ignacia Uribe Wingate.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Los Gatos, Calif.

He was an interstate truck driver. He was a member of the Harley Owners Group and the North American Fishing Club. He enjoyed studying the history of the West, riding his motorcycle, fishing and camping.

He was preceded in death by his father in 2001.

Among his survivors are: wife Kim and mother, both of Carson City; sister Myra Figueroa of Mountain View, Calif.; and brothers Dale of Mountain View and Kris of South Lake Tahoe.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
