A former Carson High School substitute teacher pleaded guilty Monday to one count of creating child pornography.

Jill Fletcher, 35, appeared in Carson City District Court as part of a plea bargain with the District Attorney's Office, which agreed to drop two additional felony charges in exchange for her guilty plea to one count of preparing materials depicting child pornography. Sentencing is set for 9 a.m. Nov. 12.

Fletcher was arrested March 20, one day after she had an 8-year-old girl "flash," or expose herself, before an Internet camera.

"She still maintains there was a great deal of coercion by an Internet stalker," said Fletcher's attorney Mike Roth after Monday's hearing.

"This has been a traumatic thing for the whole family and they're glad to get it resolved."

According to the Sheriff's Department, authorities were alerted after Fletcher filed a complaint of having received child pornography.

In her complaint, Fletcher said she was using Yahoo! to look at "teacher" Web sites when someone sent her a message asking for nude photographs of a child.

Fletcher said the person eventually e-mailed her a picture of an 8-year-old girl she knows.

Investigators spoke with the child who said Fletcher asked her to "flash" the Internet camera.

The child said she lifted her shirt then later pulled down her pants at Fletcher's request while Fletcher chatted online with someone.

Fletcher allegedly told sheriff's detectives she initially refused requests from the unknown person for the child to expose herself, but then asked the child to do it.

Fletcher's husband, Steven Fletcher, was sentenced last year to 10 years to life in prison for the sexual assault of a child younger than 14.
