Obit for Lawrence D. Wallace

A memorial service for Lawrence D. Wallace, 68, a Gardnerville resident for the past 23 years, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Gardnerville Fire Station.

Mr. Wallace died Sept. 19, 2002, at his home. He was born Sept. 25, 1933, in Mount Grove, Mo., to William Virgil and Eleanor Gertrude Waits Wallace.

He married Pat Addis June 22, 1963, in Bishop, Calif.

Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Bishop.

Mr. Wallace worked as a grocery clerk. He was a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician with the Gardnerville Fire Station and a volunteer driver for the Veterans Administration Van. He enjoyed camping and outdoor activities.

He was a member of the Douglas Dudes and Dolls Square Dance and the Senior Citizens Law Enforcement Academy. He belonged to the First Christian Church in Carson City.

He was preceded in death by his three brothers, two sisters and grandson Phillip Lovelady in 1989.

Among his survivors are his wife Pat of Gardnerville; daughters Loretta J. Cook of Carson City, Nadine R. "DeeDee" Lovelady of Dayton and Bonnie K. Graybill of Carson City; brothers Buddie D. Wood of Leadville, Colo.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
