Obituary: Lawrence L. "Larry" Polson Jr.

A graveside service for Lawrence L. "Larry" Polson Jr., 72, a Carson City resident for the past 10 years, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Lone Mountain Cemetery, preceded by visitation from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.

Mr. Polson died April 14, 2003, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born Oct. 29, 1930, in Cleora, Okla., to Lawrence L. Sr. and Vada Eliza Smith Polson.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Sunnyvale, Calif.

Mr. Polson retired from Argo Systems in Sunnyvale at 55 in 1984. He was an electrical engineer. He loved spending time with friends in local restaurants, especially the Nugget, Carson Station and the Horseshoe Club.

He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.

He was preceded in death by sister Vada Elfers and brother Alvin.

Among his survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, John Robert and Mary Anne Polson of Lakewood, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Laura L. and Robert Rice of Walla Walla, Wash.; brother Joe of Lakewood. Colo.; and grandchildren Sarah, Erica, Anna, Houston and Nathaniel Lawrence Rice.
