Rebekah Niehoff of the Carson Tigersharks turned in a sectional championship qualifying time at the Far Western Regionals in swimming on Friday in San Jose.
Abby Niehoff and Barbara Perkins also turned in solid times for the Tigersharks as all three swimmers competed in the 800-meter freestyle.
In the 13-14 age group, Rebekah dropped five seconds off her time in finishing in nine minutes, 47.61 seconds to take eighth overall. She qualified for sectionals, which covers eight western states.
in the 11-12 age group, Abby finished in 9:56.36 to take fifth. Perkins finished in 10:16.50 in the 13-14 age group.
Swimmers from several western states and Canada and Mexico were among those who competed in the Far Western meet.
