A memorial service for A. Ruth Thurman, 82, a Carson City resident for the past 20 years, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the home of her daughter Vivian Moon, 1648 Sonoma St.
Mrs. Thurman died Dec. 1, 2003, in Carson City. She was born May 21, 1921, in Pineknot, Ky., to Ray Vaughn and Etta May Troxel.
Mrs. Thurman worked at the Sahara Tahoe in Stateline for many years.
She was a volunteer at Friends in Service Helping.
Among her survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Vivian and Mike Moon; grandchildren Stuart Moon and Michelle Jacobs; great-grandchildren Bailey Jacobs and Madisson Jacobs; and two nephews, all of Carson City.

Reno Memorial Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
