Q-Tip: New license year

The 2003-2004 Nevada fishing license year begins March 1.

Here is some basic information regarding fishing licenses and permits:

Residents:

-- Annual (persons 16 years of age or older) -- $21.

-- Junior (persons ages 12-15 years of age) -- $5.

-- Senior (persons 65 years of age or older - five years of continuous Nevada residency) -- $5.

-- Combination hunting and fishing (persons 16 years of age or older. Parental signature required at time of purchase for 16-17 years of age) -- $39.

-- Junior combination hunting and fishing (persons 12 through 15 years of age. Parental signature required at time of purchase) -- $8.

-- Senior combination hunting and fishing (persons 65 years of age or older - five years of continuous Nevada residency) -- $8.

-- One-day permit (This applies until midnight of the specified day) -- $7.

-- For each additional day added to a one-day permit -- $2 (must be purchased when the one-day permit is purchased).

-- Serviceman (Nevada resident servicemen on active duty, stationed out of Nevada) -- $6.

-- Disabled veteran combination hunting and fishing (veterans who reside in Nevada and have incurred a service connected disability which is considered 50 percent or more by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and who have received a specific discharge from service) -- Free.

-- Disabled person -- with a severe physical handicap)-- $5.

-- Disabled person combination hunting and fishing - with a severe physical handicap -- $8.

-- Indian hunting and fishing (resident Indians with a certificate of eligibility) -- Free.

Non-Residents:

-- Annual (persons 16 years of age or older) -- $51.

-- Junior (persons 12-15 years of age) -- $9.

-- Colorado River Fishing License (persons 14 years of age or older) -- $21.

-- One-day permit (valid until midnight of the day specified) -- $12.

-- For each additional day added to a one-day permit -- $4 (must be purchased at the same time that the one-day permit is purchased).

Second rod stamp for residents or non-residents:

The second rod stamp fee is $10, and a person, regardless of age, must first obtain a fishing license or short term fishing permit before he can use a second rod stamp.
