Obituary: Robert E. Shannon

Robert E. Shannon, 77, a lifelong Carson City resident, died Jan. 3, 2003. He was born July 20,1925, in Reno to Fay S. and Charlotte Henningson Shannon.

He attended schools in Carson City and the University of Nevada, Reno.

In his early years, he spent the summers at Lake Tahoe working for Glenbrook Inn & Ranch.

Mr. Shannon was employed by Sierra Pacific Power Co., retiring after 42 years. He was a member of the Order of DeMolay, Carson 20-30 Club, Carson Golf Club and Warren Engine Co. No. 1.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific.

Among his survivors are brother Carl of Carson City; daughters Barbara Barhydt of Reno and Shellie Shannon and Lisa Partee, both of Carson City; sons Greg of Reno and Kani of Carson City; a niece; nephews and grandchildren.

There will be no service.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
