Carson wrestling defeats North Valleys

The Carson High wrestling team warmed up for its showdown with Douglas by winning 69-9 at North Valleys on Saturday.


Carson won three of the five matches that were wrestled. Winning by pin for the Senators were Allen Wooldridge (215 pounds) and Joe Roman (152). Chris Ceccarelli (160) also won 10-7 for Carson.


Freshmen Mark Graham nearly came back to win at 103 before losing to Jason Baker 7-6. Graham hurt his knee at the end of the match and Carson coach Dean Schmanski said more would be known about the injury on Monday.


Winning by forfeit for Carson were: Eric Aguilera (112), Kevin Riggin (119); Jonas Schenzel (125); Chris White (130); Chandler Brown (135); Paul Carter (140); Loren Wooldridge (145); Nick Shine (189); and Jason Klug (heavyweight).


The Senators will host Douglas at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. "We'll be ready for Douglas," Schmanski said.
