Reno teams places 11th in NCPGA event

Reno's Chase Stigall and Steve Hummel finished tied for 11th at the Northern California PGA/ILT Pro Scotch Championship on Tuesday in Clayton, Calif.


Hummel, representing Wolf Run Golf Club, and Stigall, of the Eldorado Hotel & Casino, finished with a 141 total for the two-day event at the Oakhurst Country Club. They shot 74 in the Chapman Scotch Two-Some on Monday and 67 in the scramble on Tuesday.


The Carson City team of Mike Browning and Guy Duensing stood 11th after Monday's opening round. Browning, of Eagle Valley, and Duensing, of Sunridge, shot 73.


Mark Sherman (Green Valley Country Club) and Jeff McMillen (Ukiah Muni Golf Course) won the event at 135 (69-66) against a field of 60 teams comprised of NCPGA Professionals.
